Dermotoligical Enviroment

So today we took a break from all the cooking and went for an adventure. Due to the lack of navigation skills of Lindsey, no problem. We took a wrong turn to try and find a waxing place. So we walked for a while and no luck. Our plan was to go there and then to the water park that is close by. After walking about in the sun for an hour we finnaly decided to try the mall near us. Soon after entering i realized that i was surrounded by the most strangest places. It seems that Thai people are incredibly vain, or so it seems. Inside the mall, it was medium size. There were about 10 salons on each floor (5 floors). Also there were a lot of skin care, and dermatologist care, cellulite, wrinkle treatments. Loads of them. I couldn't figure out if people actually went there since most thais are incredibly tiny. I'm like a triple XL here, non of them have any butts or hips, so buying clothes is a nightmare! So we kept walking and i came across a nail place and got my nails done. Inside everyone was getting acrylics done, like 3 inch nails on these really tiny hands, it was similar to edward scissor hands, without the creepyness.

The other observation i noticed was that in the bathrooms, the girls stand there and apply their makeup for minutes and minutes. I couldn't beleive, i know amerian chicks are into their makeup, buts it's high time here. In the stores and boutiques the workers would just stand their with their straighting irons and straighten their hair while you look around. I really have only noticed it in this country, and it seems that if you go to a mall where there is no tourists, there are more salons and hair iron people.

we left that madness and had our first ever sushi and boiling veg lunch. There is a gigantic conveyer belt things all across the resturant in all sorts of windy ways. You just pick up what you want, and if they are veggies you drunk them in a hot boiling soup infront of you. Loads of fun. The funny part of all this is that there is a time limit. Just as we were about to dig into our green tea ice cream...DOH the time was up.

We got out of the mall and headed to the amazing Tesco. I wanted to see what a Wal-mart like store looked like in thailand. On our way i got my legs waxed at a random place where they were doing demonstrations. I even let some thai people feel how smooth my legs were, and they were. IT was just so random in the middle of the mall, but the job was good.

Tesco in Thailand is jsut as bad ans tesco is england. it's huge filled with awful florecent light and as everything EXCEPT FABRIC DYE. After lots of explaining and hand miming and speaking somewhat broken thai i managed to explain to 5 people what i was talking about. Lots of thinking and encrypting i get a "oh noooo, so sorry no have". DOH!

yes tesco is thailand don't carry fabric dye so don't go in there looking for any.

took a bus back which was nice, cause people hold your bags when you are standing up, (same as in india). A random day i suppose but it seems the random ones are the best ones. Leaving the Santi Asoke in 2 days. Oh i also bought a water gun for the Thai new year, you get to spray watter everywhere. People have buckets on the streets to try to get you wet. i will not be wearing white!
